Informeia Media (“Informeia”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the news website https://informeia.in. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this website, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us. If you contact us by email, send a news tip, or write to us for any reason, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you.
Information collected automatically. When you visit Informeia, we and our service providers automatically collect basic technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on the site, and how you reached the site. This information is used in aggregate to understand readership and improve the website.
Comments. If you leave a comment on our site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images on the website.
Cookies
We use cookies to make the website work, to understand how readers use it, and to show relevant advertising. Advertising partners, including Google AdSense, may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can find full details in our Cookie Policy, and you can manage cookies through your browser settings.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example, videos, images or social media posts). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited the other website directly. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the website (such as hosting, analytics and advertising partners), and only to the extent necessary for them to provide their services, or where required by law. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so that we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically. For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Website administrators can see, edit and delete that information. We keep contact emails only for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@informeia.com. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
